- A Web Worker on this machine — no server, no upload, nothing to keep running. The installed judge uses a throwaway container per submission instead: no network, dropped capabilities, read-only filesystem.
- Times it against itself
- A reference solution runs here too, moments before yours, and the budget comes from that measurement. Absolute milliseconds are your machine’s; the ratio is the part that means something anywhere.
- JavaScript only
- A browser can run one of the six languages the real judge accepts. Shipping a Python runtime to a marketing page would cost megabytes to widen a demo.
